Room sharing EuroPython 2011 Florence

This page collects offers and requests for room sharing at the EuroPython 2011 conference in Florence.

This page is intentionally in English to reach a broader audience (many other pages on this wiki are in german).

General

Florence is not quite the cheapest place and especially the conference hotel demands quite a hefty price (which is normal for bigger hotels, though).

Same is true for parking your car in case you travel by car (>= 18 EUR/day is not unusual for parking).

At conferences like EP you usually spend most of your day at the conference and the evening usually in the city hanging out with some other geeks in a nice restaurant or walking around to see the city. So you won't use your hotel/room much except for sleeping, showering and breakfast.

So, if you prefer spending your money on other things rather than pricey hotel rooms, a nearby, reasonably priced room shared with some other Python geeks is nice to have.

Affordable, nearby, shared hotel room in Florence

No beds free any more in this room, please create a new offer/search on your own! Please keep the text of my offer here - for reference.

I booked one room for 4 persons (non-smoking) in a nice hotel which is in Florence in walking distance to the conference hotel.

Price per Person: 342 EUR total (this is 42.75 EUR/day * 8days)

The price is for one bed in that shared room. Price includes tax and breakfast buffet. They have free Wireless LAN and parking places!

Room has: 45m², Air Conditioning / Heating, Shower/Bathroom, Hairdryer, WC, a Safe, a Desk, TV, Telephone, Coffe/Tea-Cooker, Minibar

Duration and Pricing

Earliest Arrival Date: 2011-06-19 - Latest Leaving Date: 2011-06-27

As you see, you may arrive one day before the conference starts and leave one day after the conference (sprints) ends.

Of course you can also arrive later or leave earlier, but this won't change the price you have to pay. It might be still far cheaper than the hotels linked from the conference site, though.

BTW, the price per person (== per bed) is exactly 1/4th of what I have paid for the 4 persons room, so it is a fair share.

Please help to fully allocate the room early otherwise it might get tricky.

Parking places

This hotel tells they have private parking places for free.

ThomasWaldmann will personally use one parking place if he drives by car (which is likely).

In case they have another parking place for the same room, it is given away on first-come-first-serve basis (I didn't ask yet, whether this is the case).

Reserving

If you are interested, write me an email and ask for bank data. Your bed will be reserved for you after I receive the payment.

First come first serve, do not wait too long or this offer might be gone!
